As many of you may know, owners Chris & Rita moved into a wonderful old Victorian Home on Lake Ontario. Now don't be confused - Asti Antiques is still in the same location on Niagara Falls Blvd. Everyone was very excited to get to work on the old estate, and it has been about a month and a half since the move has been official.
So far Rita & Chris (with the help of many) have:
- stripped and refinished all the wood floors on the first floor
-painted the family room, back porch, and living room
- painted both hallways up and downstairs
-painted two of the four bedrooms (one being used as den)
-hung five or so antique lighting fixtures with accenting hand painted medallions
-ripped out carpet on main staircase
-ripped out carpet in two of four bedrooms
-painted upstairs bath & installed new temporary vainty (bathroom will be rehauled later)
-deep cleaned much of the woodwork and windows in house
-started to strip entire main staircase (was and still is partially painted an awful white)
-carpeted upstairs hallway & two bedrooms
-removed wallpaper from dining room and powder room
-wallpapered main staircase wall and re-wallpapered dining room in old Victorian paper
-painted ceilings in dining room and main foyer
-removed and begun cleaning and stripping very HEAVY radiators
-begun an extensive Landscaping project - which includes a complete rehaul of all the exisiting landscaping
All this does not even include the massive move (in which things had to be moved twice from the barn into the house once the floors were refinished) - as well as many precious antiques up to the third floor and a turn of the century Chickering Grand Piano.
We will have many pictures to come, many before and afters - as well as more projects as they are completed. We will also be adding in pictures and projects that will and have been done on Asti Antiques, another amazing Victorian home we have been renovating that houses our Antique & Jewelry Business.
